Residence Hall & Campus Apartment Staff

Every community at UCR is staffed with a multi-tiered group of individuals who are dedicated to making the most of your stay with UCR Housing.

Resident Directors

Resident Directors are full-time, professional staff members who are responsible for the total operation of their buildings. This includes supervising the Head Resident staff, Resident Advisors, and Program Coordinators, helping residents with housing and personal problems, advising Hall Councils, helping residents work toward healthy communities within the halls, and adjudicating student conduct situations.

Resident Advisors

The Resident Advisors are students who live on the halls and in apartment communities and are in constant, everyday contact with the residents. They receive many hours of training to assist you and your neighbors in creating a healthy community.

Resident Advisor responsibilities include:

  • Communicating and responding to Residence Life policies
  • Sponsoring and organizing programming throughout the year
  • Assisting with emergency procedures in the building
  • Monitoring building security
  • Reporting maintenance and custodial problems
  • Helping residents with roommate issues
  • Reviewing hall damages
  • Interceding in hall conflicts

Resident Advisors are referred to as Community Advisors in Family Housing.

Program Coordinators

The Program Coordinators plan, organize, and promote all hall-wide educational, academic, and social programs in the Residence Halls. These programs amount to over 100 events annually. They produce a quarterly activities calendar and assist with emergency procedures.

Peer Mentors

The Mentors reside in our special interest communities and assist with programming in these areas. In addition, they work with various campus offices to assist with programming in the general building communities.
