It consists of extremely economical two- and three-bedroom duplex homes nestled on tree-lined streets surrounding an expansive park, playground, and picnic area. Each home, though quaint is cable-ready and comes fully equipped with a refrigerator, stove/oven, tile floors, cabinets, tub/shower, heater, and washer/dryer hook-ups. The Residence Life staff offers an extensive family-oriented activities calendar throughout the year in order to help build a strong community environment. Families with or without children of every age will discover special opportunities designed especially with them in mind. All staff are trained to assist you in ways that will make your educational journey pleasant for the entire family.
The Child Development Center is located adjacent to the Canyon Crest Family Student Housing complex at 3333 Watkins Drive, and provides childcare services for UCR students, staff, and faculty. The Center is licensed to serve children between the ages of 4 months and 5 years. The Center's curriculum follows the guidelines for developmentally based practices provided by the California Department of Education and the National Association for the Education of Young Children, and is accredited by the National Academy of Early Childhood Programs Admission to the Child Development Center is based on the availability of space in the appropriate age and developmental level classroom, and the date of application for services. There is frequently a waiting list and interested families should therefore make arrangements well in advance of their anticipated need.
