To complement your academic learning, there are a number of housing options that Transfer students can choose from. Transfer students can live in our Residence Hall communities as well as our On-Campus Apartments, which provide quality living environments close to the campus in order to take advantage of all the academic opportunities UCR has to offer.
Residence Halls
Serving more than 3,000 students, your three Residence Halls combine comfortable living with a sense of community that will make your housing experience a memorable one.
Priority is given to incoming first year students for Residence Hall living on a first-come, first-served basis, except in the Transfer Hall. The Transfer Hall helps provide the type of educational living environment in which new UCR Transfer students can prosper. This community is composed of transfer peers making a similar transition to the University, engaged seriously in their academic pursuits, and desiring to take advantage of the exhaustive resources and unparalleled access to campus that the Residence Halls offer. The Transfer Hall is located in Pentland Hills and all rooms are same gender.

National studies have shown that resident students perform better academically, have more contact with faculty, and are generally happier with their college experience than those who live off-campus or commute. |

Other than the physical appearances of the buildings and rooms, there are no programmatic differences. All residents receive the same benefits and services. The real difference is in the people on a hall. To receive the best program possible, residents need to participate in their living environment.
