    • Your assigned check-in time and QR code are contained on your Move-In Pass.
    • Your Move-In Pass is your ticket to check-in and will be posted on your MyHousing portal sometime during the week of September 5 – 8.
    • You are required to move in on your assigned date and time.  Please arrive on time, but not more than 15 minutes earlier than your assigned check-in time.  If you arrive early, you will be asked to stand aside until your assigned check-in time.  Early and late arrivals on the day of move-in have an extremely adverse effect on the check-in wait times for everyone, campus traffic, and our community passages and elevators.  Please do not be that family.
    • If you need consideration for a later Move-In date due to religious or other critical reason, contact your Resident Services Office (RSO) or email us.  Your room reservation cannot be held unless we hear from you prior to your assigned Move-In Day.
  • Check-In @ UCR Lot 30

All students living in Residence Hall communities must start by checking in at UCR Lot 30.

Check-in is not possible at your assigned community.

Type UCR Lot 30 into your GPS map app or follow these driving directions:

From the 60/215 Freeway east or west:

    1. Exit Martin Luther King Blvd. & proceed west.
    2. Turn right at signal labelled UCR Lot 30.
    3. Follow signs to the check-in parking location.

Please do not bring moving vans, RV’s, or trailers to Move-In Day.  These vehicles use too much space in our parking lots and are difficult to navigate on narrow, busy, campus streets.

    • You will be parking your vehicle and walking to the nearby alphabetized check-in tables.
    • You will need your Student ID card and your Move-In Pass, which must be printed or accessible on a mobile device.
    • If you did not receive your Student ID card during the summer, you should submit an online request immediately to MyPhoto. Your Student ID card may be included in your housing check-in materials if you submitted your photo by September 1.  If not, you should pick up your Student ID card at the Carding Office.
    • Beverages, snacks, and grab ‘n’ go meals will be available for sale in UCR Lot 30.
    • There will also be photo opportunities for you and your supporter(s) with Big Scotty and Norm the Navel.
  • Travel To Your Move-In Parking Lot
    • Once you are checked in at UCR Lot 30, have your keys, and move-in inventory form, please proceed to your assigned community using the appropriate map and driving directions posted below.
    • In order to decrease your move-in driving and waiting times, and to control traffic on campus roads, it is extremely important that you use our provided driving directions and not the GPS directions on your mobile device.
    • You may only park one vehicle at your community while unloading and you must move your vehicle to long-term parking after 30 minutes.
    • Check out a blue moving cart and unload.  You are limited to one moving cart.  You may also bring your own carrier or moving cart.
    • Return your completed move-in inventory form to the Resident Services Office (RSO) on your Move-In Day.  Failure to return a completed move-in inventory form on Move-In Day will imply that your assigned space is acceptable “as is.”

  • A Note About Health

RSV has been making the rounds, COVID cases are on the rise, and influenza season is imminent.  Viruses such as these can spread particularly quickly in a congregate living environment such as the Residence Halls and Campus Apartments.

If you have cold or flu symptoms (or test positive for COVID) as Move-In Day approaches, make the hard choice to stay home.

Do not worry.  Your campus housing space will be waiting for you when you are feeling better (or test negative for COVID).

We appreciate you helping to keep our campus community safe and setting the right example for others.

When you do arrive, you will notice that opportunities to sanitize your hands are always in eyesight and rapid at-home COVID test kits are available free of charge at your Resident Services Office (RSO).

For you.  For others.  Keep a good check on your health during your stay.
