Annual Programs

Residential Life works to ensure that our programs and activities are intentional, inclusive, build community and support learning. To that, our programs are divided into different categories.

  • Academics & Career Success

Academic programs will educate residents on opportunities to assist their academic and personal achievement. Under the guidance of Residential Life, residents will be offered programs to develop and enhance study skills, career progression, goal setting, time management, etc. while also promoting campus partners and resources.

    Learning Outcomes for continuing students…

    • Should be able to develop the necessary knowledge and skill set to help identify their academic field and career of choice for those who are undeclared.

  • Community Building

Community & Tartan Soul Programs will encourage residents to be active participants in their communities, in addition to learning the four qualities of Tartan Soul. Tartan Soul programs will educate residents to be part of the UCR Community. Under the guidance of Residential Life, residents will learn the foundations of respect, integrity, accountability, and excellence. These programs will challenge residents to recognize themselves as members at large. Under the guidance of Residential Life, residents will be offered programs to develop their engagement to their community, social networking, exploring common interest and goals, while promoting UCR Pride.

  • Personal and Campus Safety

Personal and Campus Safety will educate residents on preventative measures when it comes to personal and campus safety. Under the guidance of Residential Life, residents will be offered programs to develop self-care skill sets, stress relief, psychological safety, alcohol and drug awareness, addiction, sexual assault violence education prevention, etc., while promoting campus partners and resources.

  • Sustainability

Sustainability Programs will encourage residents to consciously expand their awareness and apply their knowledge of sustainability through environmental responsibility and advocacy. Under the guidance of Residential Life, residents will be offered programs to develop and promote sustainability such as energy consumption, recycling, repurposing, eco-power, carbon footprint, and many more.

  • Social Justice

Social Justice Programs will educate residents to participate with many people who are different than themselves, culturally, ethnically and socially. Under the guidance of Residential Life, residents will learn the importance of communal living, respect, humanitarianism, awareness, etc. while promoting campus partners and resources.
